Flattening Stitch Program – Process & Pricing Overview
We use what’s called an underlay flattening stitch when embroidering on fleece and other textured or high-pile fabrics. This technique lays down a base layer of stitching that compresses the fabric, creating a smooth surface for the embroidery. It ensures the design sews out cleanly and maintains crisp detail, preventing it from getting lost in the texture of the garment.
Pricing Structure
If your order includes garments that require a flattening stitch, the total stitch count used for pricing will reflect both the design and the flattening stitch. For example, if your design is 3,000 stitches and the flattening stitch adds 1,000 stitches, pricing will be based on 4,000 stitches.
If your order contains a mix of garments—some that require the flattening stitch and some that don’t—we will still honor the volume pricing as long as the design itself does not change (i.e., the only difference is the presence of the flattening stitch).
Example
If you’re ordering 50 pieces total, and 10 of them require the flattening stitch:
- The 40 standard items will be charged at the 3,000-stitch rate based on 50-piece volume pricing.
- The 10 pieces with flattening stitch will be charged at the 4,000-stitch rate, also using 50-piece volume pricing.
